எளிய எதிர்காலம் என்பது பொதுவான எதிர்கால உண்மைகள், உடனடி முடிவுகள் மற்றும் கணிப்புகளை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது, அதேசமயம் தொடர் எதிர்காலம் என்பது எதிர்காலத்தில் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட தருணத்தில் நடந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் ஒரு செயலை விவரிக்கிறது.
Form and Structure
Future Simple: Uses Subject + will + base verb.
Example: I will go to temple.
நான் கோவிலுக்குச் செல்வேன்.
Future Continuous: Uses Subject + will be + present participle -ing form.
Example: I will be going to temple.
நான் கோவிலுக்குச் சென்று கொண்டிருப்பேன்.
7. Future Continuous vs. Future Perfect Continuous
The main difference is that the future continuous describes an action that will be in progress at a specific moment in the future, while the future perfect continuous measures how long an ongoing action will have lasted up to a specific point in the future.
Form and Structure
Future Continuous: Uses will + be + verb-ing.
Example: At 8 PM, I will be cooking dinner.
இரவு 8 மணிக்கு நான் இரவு உணவைச் சமைத்துக்கொண்டிருப்பேன்.
(The cooking starts before 8 PM and continues past it; you are looking at the action in progress).
Future Perfect Continuous: Uses will have been + verb-ing.
Example: By 8 PM, I will have been cooking for two hours.
இரவு 8 மணிக்குள், நான் இரண்டு மணி நேரமாகச் சமைத்துக்கொண்டிருப்பேன்.
(You measure the duration of the cooking up to that future time).
8. Common Mistakes - பொதுவான தவறுகள்
- ❌ I will
takingtest tomorrow at 10 AM. - ✅ I will be taking the test tomorrow at 10 AM. (Do not forget 'be' between 'will' and verb-ing)
- ❌ She will be
takerest tomorrow. - ✅ She will be taking rest tomorrow. (Always use the -ing form after will be)
9. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - அடிக்கடி கேட்கப்படும் கேள்விகள்
1. What is the standard structure of the Future Continuous Tense?
The structure is: Subject + will be / shall be + Verb(-ing).
• Affirmative: I will be working.
• Negative: I will not be (won't be) working.
• Question: Will you be working?
2. Can we use 'shall be' instead of 'will be'?
Yes, shall be can be used with I and We, especially in formal British English (e.g., I shall be taking the exam). However, in modern English and daily conversations, will be is commonly used with all pronouns.
3. Why can't we use state verbs (stative verbs) in the Future Continuous Tense?
Stative verbs (like know, understand, love, possess, seem, like) describe states or conditions rather than active continuous processes. Instead of saying "I will be knowing the answer," you should use the Simple Future tense: "I will know the answer."
10. Do It Yourself - பயிற்சி
